Beowulf is an example of an epic because it features a larger-than-life hero (Beowulf) who embarks on a series of heroic quests and battles against monstrous creatures. The poem also explores themes of courage, honor, and the struggle between good and evil, while showcasing the cultural values and traditions of the time. Its narrative structure, elevated language, and portrayal of legendary events distinguish it as an epic poem.
