What courses to pick in order to become a teacher?
What courses you take to prepare for your career depends on what level of education you want to teach in, and also what (if any) specialized subject matter interests you as a teacher. To be an elementary school homeroom teacher, you'll need a bachelor's degree and a teaching credential, plus advanced courses in any subject you expect to teach (like math, or history). In addition, take courses in the philosophy of education and psychology of learning-- these subjects are part of most undergraduate coursework as an education major.
