"Blessed are the Peacemakers: for they shall be called the Children of God." (Matt.5:9)

Most people don't realize that in the "Beatitudes or Sermon on the Mount," as some folks say; in Matthew 5 -- Jesus is listing the CHARACTER TRAITS OF A CHILD OF GOD. The Righteous, Loving, Giving, Responsible, Self-disciplined Character that God's Children should be developing in this world.

They're "humble"... they "mourn" [sigh and cry - weep - for all the abominations done on earth - see Ezek.9:4]... they're "meek" [not 'weak'; there's a difference]... they "hunger and thirst" [they have an insatiable spiritual appetite and desire] after Righteousness [they fervently seek the Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding of God's Truth; supplied through Jesus Christ, His Living Word The Bible, the Bread of Life]... they are "merciful" [not hateful, envious, greedy, lustful]... "Pure in heart" [cleansed by God's Holy Spirit]... and they are "PEACEMAKERS." [Matt.5:3-9]

"Peacemaker" seems self-evident. It's someone who MAKES PEACE.

It's someone who can step into an argument... and RESOLVE IT... rather than make it worse, like going to war [the opposite of peace; the way of this world].

A Peacemaker has highly developed diplomatic skills to Judge disputes, and render equitable [peaceable] results.

"Do ye not know that the saints [God's Children] SHALL JUDGE THE WORLD? And if the world shall be Judged by you, are ye unworthy to Judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that WE SHALL JUDGE ANGELS?" (I Cor.6:2-3)

The Spiritual Character Traits of God's Children listed in the "Beatitudes" skims right over the heads of most people, who are spiritually lost, blinded or otherwise deceived, each in their own personal worldly concerns and distractions... that they have no concept of "the world to come" ["...whereof we speak." - Heb.2:5].

The world where Jesus Christ and "His saints" shall rule over the nations for a thousand years... teaching them the ways of God -- the WAY OF PEACE -- not WAR.

In the world to come; whereof the Bible speaks:

"...the saints [the Humble, Meek, Peacemaking Children of God] of the Most High SHALL TAKE THE KINGDOM, and POSSESS THE KINGDOM for ever, even FOR EVER and EVER." (Dan.7:18)

"...Come, ye blessed [Peacemaking Children] of My Father, INHERIT THE KINGDOM prepared for you from the foundation of the world." (Matt.25:34)

"...they shall be the Priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years." (Rev.20:6)

"...thou [Jesus Christ; the Lamb of God]... hast made usunto our God Kings and Priests [Judges, Rulers... Peacemakers]: and WE SHALL REIGN ON THE EARTH." (Rev.5:9-10)

This world doesn't know what "Peacemakers" are. The WAY OF PEACE, this world is ignorant of [Isa.59:8]. The governments of this world send "peace-KEEPERS" into its many war zones. And, for what?

They cannot KEEP what they don't HAVE! You have to MAKE Peace, first, before you can KEEP it.

And that's what Jesus means by "Peace-MAKERS."

When Jesus, the King, returns to earth with His Kingdom... as stated in the scriptures above, He's going to GIVE IT TO HIS SAINTS [His Brothers and Sisters; His Newborn Siblings -- the Children of God]:

"...to him WILL I GIVE POWER OVER THE NATIONS: and HE SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON..." (Rev.2:26-27).

Jesus and the first newborn generation of His Family shall MAKE PEACE across the face of the planet!

"...He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths... He shall Judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, NEITHER SHALL THEY LEARN WAR ANY MORE." (Isa.2:4)

"...and THE GOVERNMENT shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called... the Prince of PEACE. Of the increase of His Government and PEACE THERE SHALL BE NO END... The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this." (Isa.9:6-7)

Peace will come to the earth by the "zeal" and the Power of God... not men.

Mankind and the world shall never know True Peace... until Jesus Christ... and the Children of God, whom He describes in Matthew 5, establish the Kingdom of God on the earth [a colossal, incredible, unbelieveable future event that the Bible calls "GOSPEL;" - good news. - see Mark 1:14-15]

Not until this happens in the world will the nations understand at last what the Bible and Jesus means by; "Peacemakers." When the world finally recognizes them, they will be ruling the nations... they will MAKE THE WORLD A PEACEFUL PLACE... and the nations shall know them as their Judges, Kings and Priests... and shall call them: "...the Children of God."
