I don't think you can do a book report without reading the book. Unless you go on line to research the book, you might be able to wright a book report on it. But for the most part, no you cannot write the report if you don't read the book first. I usually do the book report while I read the book.

I would suggest reading the book, and writing down important events.
Example sentence - He knew reading the book was the hardest hurdle to get past before he could write the book report.
You could actually read it. Or... Tell her you read it. In case she asks what happened in it read a summary of it to figure out what happens. Or... Tell her you started to read it and didn't enjoy it, so you don't want to read the rest.
