- Consult a medical professional. Your doctor is someone you can trust; if you cant trust your doctor get a different one. Doctors are experts on human Biology and can refer you to other professionals that specialize in addictions counseling. Doctors also tend to be very intelligent and caring.
- Try to stop associating with others who use drugs. If it is safe and practical for you to alienate yourself from those that consume drugs with you, do so. In most cases, you will not value their companionship after you quit drugs anyways, unless of course they were close to you before the drugs started. The more people in your life that do drugs, the more you will do drugs.
- When you try to quit, it might help to replace meth with a drug that is less harmful, such as marijuana or cigarettes. It is easier to quit an addiction if you exchange it for a different addiction.
- Obviously, both of you must be committed to quiting. If one of you is not committed, your chance of quiting will be much smaller.
