- No, you should not wait for him. He handled the situation in a mature way and was honest with you. Young people need to find out what they want in life and not commit to each other too young. There is so much in life ... travel; education; career, etc. Also dating different men in a normal fashion will let any woman or man know what she does or doesn't want in a partner. Your ex boyfriend probably does still love you, but is not happy because he feels a void in himself and has to search through life to fill that void. As much as it hurts get out with friends and get back into the dating circuit. If you are both meant to be together you will be and, if not, you will eventually meet the man you should be with.
