The Army, The Air Force and the United States Navy all fall under the Department of Defense. The US Marice Corps falls under the Department of the Navy and the US Coast Guard has it's jurisdiction falling under the Department of Transporatation.

Currently there are only 3 branches of Armed Service, even in the USA. Air Force, Army, and Navy. People commonly think that the Marines and the Coast Guard are their own branches, which is highly inaccurate as they are both a part of the Navy. Maybe someday the Space will split off from the Air Force and the US will have 4 branches.
