low speed in carb stopped up....carb needs cleaningAnother AnswerMost common cause of engine revving up and down is a dirty or clogged air filter.
An engine revs when you hold down the gas and the brakes at the same time. ~Ares

Every time you engage the clutch, the clutch disengages from the transmission/engine. Which in term engine revs up, until you disengage the clutch.
Typically with the Mazda RX8 Rotary engine vibration at revs as high as 6000 is down to engine damage suffered when oil was low. Your engine requires rebuild or renewal. Vibration at idle only is typically engine mounts, a know fault many dealers are aware of.
It sounds like the carb needs to be cleaned , it is surging for fuel . Yes. I have cleaned the carb, put in a new petrol filter and renewed the diaphrgam of the petrol pump but it still surges. Any other ideas please? Is there anykind of adjuster on the machine . if there is try adjusting . If there is a fuel inlet on top of carb , there should be a plate that you can take off and that is where the jets are , try cleaning them .
because the engine turnes at diffrent speeds ie. tick-over is about 1.5k revs where as speeding down the road is at 5k revs the faster the engine turns the more the pressure builds up
replace the Air Idle Control Valve for starters
Gear changes are determined after how fast the engine is turning. For each gear there are set limits for which engine revs that are allowed. if the revs go high, the transmission changes up a gear, if the gears go low it drops down a gear.
Because that's how an engine runs. it can only ever rev up if you give it gas. no gas, no revs. more gas, more revs
What revs should my audi 1.6 show at seventy miles an hour and how many revs should it show when ticking over
