The shortest river in Britain is Scotland's River Scavaig which runs from Loch Coriusk in the centre of the Black Cuillin of Skye to the sea in a mere 250 yards.

England's shortest is the River Bain in Yorkshire of around 2.5 miles. For some reason the Rover Brun, Burnley, Lancs, is sometimes awarded this accolade, but it is longer than both these two together........
