black or brown? does the water look like it has oil in it? That sounds like a cracked block, did the car overheat recently, How is it running right now? If it is running really bad then do a compression check. You could have a blown head gasket to. I just went though that and replaced the motor in my 94 sl1. Good Luck!!
Head Gasket blown- sounds like oil is in the coolant .this mixes with water and emulsifies creamy brown sludge.
If you waited until the coolant is brown you waited too long. Have the system professionally flushed at that point.
a muddy brown sludge
Nothing is necessary. Just clean the birdbath daily. Sludge won't form.
Ewwwwww not good. Looks like you have a blown head gasket and oil is squeezing up the piston bores and through the crack in the gasket into the coolant jacket. I don't know any other way it could get there. Take off your oil filler cap and see if you have a brown foamy sludge in there. That usually means the coolant is going the other way into your crank case. Phil
If it's truly a muddy brown.. usually in a GM it's caused by the factory-installed stop-leak tablets. If it's another manufacturer or if it's a redder brown like rust, there are a few other possibilities.. oil leaking into coolant, coolant so old or weak that the system is rusting, or something was added to the system without your knowledge (stop-leak or other).
nearly brown
people say it is brown
the planet CT CHA B is the second largest. it orbits the star CT CHA and wheighs about 5000 earth masses. but it is actually a brown dwarf.
Venus is more yellow, but Saturn is a yellow/brown colour.
If your coolant is brown, this means it has LOTS of rust in it. If this is the case, then you need to flush your cooling system and refill it with fresh coolant. Be sure to drain your engine block as well as your radiator, as MANY people neglect to do this. Without draining your engine block, you are basically just changing half your coolant.
your probably getting transmission fluid in your cooling system from the cooler in the rad. replace your rad
