Businesses are owned by either the private sector, or businesses are state owned. It means that the British government does not own it; private individuals own it.
An independent business is one that is owned by a private company. Some examples of independent businesses are small business, locally-owned businesses, and startup businesses.
public banks are banks that are owned by the government but private baks are baks owned by citizens or a citizen

encompasses all 'for profit' businesses that are not owned by the government.
In Capitalism, businesses are owned by private individuals, corporations, or share holders depending on the company.
Public sectors are owned and/or serviced by the government. Private sector businesses are owned by individuals and do not pay a direct dividend to the government.
They had to be accepted by their tribe. Most owned farms, fished, had businesses or trades.
