since a modem dials a number and on a normal telephone line you can only have one active call at once if you had to modems both of them together will try and make an active call
The two forms of modems are dial-up modems and private line modems
a one line telephone means 1 person can talk at a time and a 2 line telephone means 2 separate people can talk at the same time in the same house
If you have two adsl lines then yes you can use two modems. Two modems on one line won't work. Just get a router to expand your network or up your broadband speed if available.
Modems come in two varieties :Internal modems are the modems that are fixed within the computer.External modems are the modems that are connected externally to a computer as other peripherals are connected.
An iamb is a word or line consisting of two syllables, one unstressed followed by a stressed syllable. "Telephone" has three syllables, therefore is not an iamb.
No you can not. Cable modems use RF or Radio Frequency to transmit data, usually converting that RF frequency into fiber optic via a node. DSL or Digital Subscriber lines use electricity like a phone line. You could also say Cable modems use coaxial cable and DSL use telephone wire. The two modems are not interchangeable.
Whether phone call or telephone call, it is two words. In the past, people used phone booths to make a phone call when away from home. When people made a telephone call on a party line, it meant a whole neighborhood shared the same line.
Each telephone line uses only two conductors.
When requiring a two line phone system for those working from home so needing a personal line and a separate business line. By having a two line system such as the Panasonic KX-TS3282B it is possible to have two separate telephone lines from one phone system.
On a single phone line, no. But alot of times in the USA the phone line coming into the house actually has 2 lines on it, these can be set to use one or the other line, allowing two modens to function in that house, even though they are actually using different lines. (does require the activation of the second phone line with your phone carrier, often a lesser cost than the first line was)
One may purchase two telephone lines from most telephone providers. Traditional telephone service providers will require you to install another stand alone telephone line, whether this be a private or a business line. For fiber lines the options are more complicated and involve using existing fiber telephone lines and a splitter. If it is simply an additional telephone number one needs, then most telephone service providers are happy to provide an extra number and the first extra number may be free of charge on private lines.
You are referrring to the line cord I presume: The cord that connects the telephone set to the jack. A two-wire cord will work for a single-line telephone set. A four-wire cord will support a two-line telephone. If you use a two-wire cord on a two-line telephone set, line two will be dead on the set. A four-wire cord will , of course, work just fine for a single-line set. When you look at the plugs on the ends of the four-wire cord, you will see four small contacts: The middle two are for "line one" and the outer two are for "line two". Sometimes there may me a six-position/contact plug on the ends, with the two outer-most positions not having any wiring connected to them. Line cords also come in 6- and 8- wire configurations for other various types of multi-line analog and digital telephone sets.
