The search for the Higgs Boson -- HORRIBLY nicknamed as the "God Particle" -- is an ongoing research program at CERN. At present they report (more or less), "We haven't yet definitely found it, but we also haven't yet definitely NOT found it!"

What element is God?

There is no such thing as a "god element", if you believe in God than you believe he created all things so all elements are God's. However, the media are calling the "Higgs Boson" (the new particle that they think they have found in the CERN experiment), the "god particle" because if there it would be this particle that gives matter mass.

What is the goal for CERN?

to find scientific discoveries, such as creation of black holes and the "god particle", (google it) amongst other things.

What is IHC CERN particle accelerator?

The Large Hadron Collider at CERN is an experimental piece of equipment which is providing data on the beginning of the universe and how atoms are made. It simulates what happened at the Big Bang. The ultimate aim is to find the God Particle, which was needed for the Big Bang to occur.

Who had invented god cell theory recently?

Scientists at the CERN research centre near Geneva, Switzerland, on 4th July 2012 unveiled their latest findings in their search for the Higgs boson, a subatomic particle key to the formation of stars, planets and eventually life after the Big Bang 13.7 billion years ago. This particle is known as god's particle.

What is the other term for god particle?

The term "god particle" is commonly used to refer to the Higgs boson. This nickname was popularized by the media and is attributed to its fundamental role in the field of particle physics, particularly in explaining how particles acquire mass through the Higgs mechanism. The Higgs boson was discovered in 2012 at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider, confirming a key aspect of the Standard Model of particle physics.

What is god particles?

The so called god particle is the Higgs boson. The search and discovery of this particle would advance our knowledge of the universe and how it works. There is no relationship between a god or gods and the particle. This particle was named after the scientist who first theoretically proposed it. Note that "god particle" is a name used only by nonspecialists as journalists. The LHC in Switzerland at the nuclear research center CERN was meant to find this missing and mysterious particle. It is mean to give matter its mass and other properties. The Higgs boson was supposed to be found but the test are being carried out now. The first results are negative. Recent update: on 13th December 2011, CERN issued a press release describing the current status of the search for Higgs bosons (see related link). There still has not been a positive discovery, but the possible mass range has been restricted severely and we should know soon (at some point in 2012) whether the standard model version of the Higgs exists or not. Update: The Higgs boson was discovered on July 4, 2012.

Who coined the word God Particle?

The term "God Particle" was popularized by physicist Leon Lederman in his book "The God Particle: If the Universe Is the Answer, What Is the Question?" However, Lederman originally wanted to refer to the Higgs boson as the "Goddamn Particle" due to its elusive nature, but the publisher suggested "God Particle" for marketing reasons.

Why is antimatter called the God particle?

The true name of the so called (by non specialists) god particle is the Higgs boson; this particle was predicted but not discovered until now. The Higgs boson is not the equivalent of the antimatter.

When was a Higgs boson first discovered?

The Higgs boson was first discovered on July 4, 2012 at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN in Switzerland. The discovery was a significant milestone in particle physics and confirmed the existence of the Higgs field, which gives particles mass.

When was god's particle found?

The Higgs Boson was discovered in July of 2012. The media calls it "The God Particle", but this is a misnomer; there is nothing godlike about this particle. It's the particle counterpart to the field that gives particles their mass.

Why is the Higgs Boson referred to as the God Particle?

The Higgs boson is referred to as the God particle for the reason that this kind of particle is predicted in physics theory of the Standard Model. Although the particle has nothing to do with God, the belief is, that the detection of this particle would lead to many explanations about the creation of the universe and the big bang and what caused it.
