Potbelly pigs aren't kept in cages. They are kept like dogs and cats inside of your home with the family. If you need to take your potbelly pig anywhere (to the vet, or to market, hehehe) you can just put a harness & leash on and walk together.

So be sure the cover is "breathable" meaning that it is a cloth through which air can pass through. Under those circumstances the cover will not harm the guinea pigs, but if you leave it covered for too long the guinea pig may become agitated or uneasy.
