On the front of the engine, drivers side, between the radiator and the engine itself, way down low is a yellow plastic dip stick. This is the transmission dip-stick. There is a little clip that needs to be pulled back before you can remove it.
Be sure the transmission is a normal operating temp and on a level surface.
Be careful not to burn yourself! It's hard to reach.
How do you check the transmission fluid on a 2003 Saturn vue
Check
You can't because it's a sealed transmission.
I dont think manual transmission cars use transmission fluid.
Check saturnfans.com forums under the SL or post the question.
There is a screw-in plug on the side of the transmission. Saturn transmissions do not have a dipstick since they are supposed to be a "sealed" unit.
You don't "pour" it in. Saturn uses a "sealed" transmission, meaning that you don't check the fluid level using a dipstick. There is an access hole on the side of the transmission.
There is a red dipstick.
There is no transmission dipstick. You have to check the level at the transmission itself. I just had my mechanic do it because its alot easier to check it up on the lift. I know this because I own a 2001 Saturn
With an OBD2 scan tool plugged into the port.
i have a 2003 Saturn vue and there is no dipstick for the transmission fluid. its a plug. you have to take you car to a shop and get them to check it... i know it sounds crazy. but they usually have to put it on a lift to get to it.
Take it to a Goodwrench certfied shop. The transmission in the Saturn Vue has no dipstick, so requires service by a certified mechanic. Unless you have a leak, which you would obviously see, there is no need to check the fluid level.
