no, you cannot delete questions in Answers once they have been submitted.
Once you post a question on Answers, you are not allowed to delete or take it down.
I am not sure why you cannot delete or edit questions on the answer site. I would try contacting the company and see if they could tell you more.
Only Supervisors or Staff can delete questions from WikiAnswers or Answers dot com. Primarily, questions that violate the terms of use or rules of the site are the only ones deleted.
You may want to ask this on Yahoo Answers (or better yet stay here and ask and answer questions on WikiAnswers instead of Yahoo Answers :-) I would guess that since you are the one who wrote the answer Yahoo is giving you the ability to edit or delete it, but is not giving you the ability to edit or delete other people's answers.
If you want to delete your Answers account - send an email to support@answers.com. Your account will not be totally deleted - but will be disabled. Your contributions (answers, questions, warnings etc) up to the time your account is disabled will still remain in the system archives.
You can delete the cookie, and history page from your PC but your questions and answers remain on the site. Your name will remain active if you want to come back.
You can't delete any of your questions or answers if you haven't registered. When my question has upvotes and unanswered for long time, it get deleted.

You can delete the account in settings. Go to the settings tab and you can find it.
Answers should be deleted only if they are completely wrong. Otherwise deleting answers is seriously offended on Wiki Answers. You can delete a answer by removing all text from the box by clicking "Improve Answer".
