You can buy, that's not a problem. In order to stay here, you either need a visa or green card. A visa would allow you to visit for a limited amount of time. A green card gives you legal residency. BUT, just owning property in the US WILL NOT allow a person to have legal residence. Owning propery is not a basis for wither a visa or green card.
