Answer If by scam you mean steal your credit or debit card information the answer is no. Amazon is a extremely reputable online retailer that has gone public (the company sells some of the shares to anyone who can afford to buy them). Amazon generates billions of dollars in revenue every year. However, if by scam you mean overcharge you significantly for an item, shipping and handling or both then yes they can "scam" you. Please note this is not illegal. It is up to the customer buying the product to be well informed about the prices of things.
If you are afraid you are being overcharged I suggest googling the item you want and looking at the price of the item in not only other online retailers but also physical stores. Sometimes you will find an item is slightly more expensive in a store like Walmart than on Amazon. If shipping is a lot of money and the physical store isn't far away it's better to just buy it in a store.
You might be thinking to yourself that you will just buy Amazon Prime which is a service that gives you access to a few things but most importantly on many items you get free shipping. Don't be so fast to want to buy Amazon Prime! Yes I have Amazon Prime but I don't buy much from Amazon even though I have had Amazon Prime for two years. Amazon wants you to buy a Prime membership because they have noticed when people do they buy a tremendous amount more of their products. The question is why do I still have Prime. Well, it gives my family access to some movies (like Netflix). In conclusion, check the prices before you buy anything from Amazon or any online retailer for that matter. Second before you sign up for an Amazon Credit Card or Prime Membership read and understand all of the details. My personal opinion is to never sign up for an Amazon Credit Card. The credit card I have now does just fine and I don't want to run into any trouble with the fine print.
No it is a SCAM stay away!
No.. amazon is a trusted site and wouldn't ruin their reputation to scam one person.
It depends on the seller, but amazon as a seller does for certain home theaters. So do many other sellers on amazon, just make sure it's not a scam.

Yes, the Amazon Synchrony Bank scam is real. To protect yourself from falling victim to it, be cautious of unsolicited emails or calls asking for personal information, verify the legitimacy of any communication with Amazon or Synchrony Bank directly, and avoid clicking on suspicious links or providing sensitive information to unknown sources.
Amazon do not offer an escrow service. The whole thing is a scam. There is no car, the advert on CraigsList is fake, designed just to get you to use his fake escrow service website and steal your money. Here are some examples of the fake escrow websites.
