If your doctor prescribes both Elavil (amitriptyline) and Doxepin, you should be fine. This would be an appropriate question to ask at your next appointment or to discuss with your pharmacist. It's important to understand the medication you're taking and the reason you're taking it.

If, on the other hand, you're taking -- or considering taking -- the two without a prescription (a very bad idea), you should know they're both older tricyclic antidepressants, the same class of medication. Taking the two together may compound side-effects without creating any benefit.
