Badge Magic is an adhesive used to attach patches. You either peel off the paper that has been pre-cut for the badge in question or use a knife to cut your own outline. You then press the badge down onto the adhesive and peel it back off being careful that the entire area of adhesive sticks to the badge. You then press the badge down onto the uniform where you want it placed. When done you turn the shirt inside out and put it in the dryer for a few minutes. You do not iron the patch.
My personal experience:
It works well and is easy to use but.....
- The badges do drift a bit after prolonged use (years).
- They do require a bit of touch up from time to time which is easy to do with a spare bit of the product.
- Removal is not as easy as the instructions suggest and a residue is left behind rendering the shirt unfit for later use and often with some residue in the surrounding area even if a like patch is replaced.
- The solvents used to remove the patches also removes some of the plastic backing from the badges. They are still presentable in the front but they are noticeably thinner and less rigid.
So it is a good product if you want to put your kid's patches on the shirt without having to sew, have them use it for a year or two, and then toss the shirt. If you plan to use the shirt for a more prolonged period (or re-use it for a different scout) or swap the patches out (as many adult leaders will do) I prefer to sew the patches.

∙ 12y agoYes, you can use Badge Magic to attach your Girl Scout badges, however, be sure to follow the instructions carefully. Be sure to let them dry either as long or longer than the instructions say.
It is best to spot clean the vest or sash rather than washing it as that seems to cause the most problems with the badges coming loose.
Also, many of the new badges coming out for the 2011-2012 membership year will be iron on, and will not work as well with the Badge Magic.

Sorry to dissapoint you, but it doesn't mean anything! You can rub your badges using the stylus to make them shiny, and that is all you have done! If you shine them loads, they turn sparkly! Good Luck!
