I've given my dog this medication. I believe that's the generic name for benadryl. I would use the children's version of benadryl and dose according to the animals weight. (I'm not a veterinarian and have no medical training so YMMV)

It could yield little effect, or be an emergency situation, depending on the venom, the pet's allergic reaction, and the location of the bite. Dogs most commonly have swelling of the face and muzzle from snapping at insects with their mouth. Speak to your veteranarian first before giving your dog any type of medicine.
