A Summons is an official document from the Court that you must appear before a Judge or Magistrate in court to answer a criminal charge or a civil complaint. If you don't appear in court on the time, date, and place specified on the Summons, you probably will be arrested, or a civil judgment will be entered against you, or in some cases you can be tried in absentia (and probably found guilty). There is no legal reason for not appearing in Court, except for reasons beyond your control, such as an accident with injury or sudden critical illness. You could otherwise have been SUBPOENAED to court as well. This means that you must appear before a Judge, Lawyer, or other person, to give testimony or deposition in a criminal or civil case. If you ignore a subpoena you could be arrested and brought into court to testify. Some subpoenas called Subpoena Duces Tecum (sub-PEE-nuh Duck-ess TEE cum), require you to bring certain items with you.

If you call the cops and your husband gets arrested can they tell him it was you?

The answer likely depends on what he is arrested for. It is possible that you might be classified as a confidential informant. There is an added issue because in many cases a wife cannot testify against her husband nor a husband against his wife. If your call to the police gave law enforcement any evidence about a court case then yes they have to disclose the source of the evidence.
