I would stick with the same manufacturer's part for yout tractor if necessary. Using a different brand that doesn't match with your current brand can cause worse damages in the long run.

I'm not sure, but it looks to me like a 1951 Ferguson TO-20 with gas engine. The "G" in the serial stands for gas engine. All the TO's were built in Detroit, MI even though Ferguson was actually British. (TO = "tractor overseas") Note that this would actually pre-date any of the Massey-Ferguson tractors, since they didn't start that name till 1957 (unless memory fails).

The model and tractor number for 1938 to 1957 model B's is stamped in a pad next to the gear shift lever. It will most likely have a Bxxx with 3 or more numbers after. Then go to tractor data dot com find the year of the serial number.
The Allis-Chalmers D17 tractor with serial number 85257 was manufactured in 1960. The D17 series was produced from 1957 to 1967, with specific serial number ranges corresponding to different model years, and 85257 falls within the 1960 production range.
The nuts holding the emblem are in the back. You have to get behind the grille to remove them.
There should be a plug in the differential which faces towards the rear. The oil level should be about 1/4 inch from that opening when the plug is removed.
jack the door up on the end of it and unbolt the hinge and replace with the new one.
