Anyone who has chest pain, breathing problems, fever, chills, or a cough while taking nitrofurantoin should check with a physician immediately.
This study indicates you can take prilosec while taking ciproflaxacin: http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/529197
100% it can.. some suffer this, others it does not bother. but if you stick with omeprazole after a while it may go.. if it does not.. stop! change meds..
I don't know the medical answer to this, but I've found I can have a glass of red wine with no issues, but white wine will leave me feeling nauseous the next morning. Prior to strating on Nexium I had no issues with white wine.
You have to discuss this one with your doctor since it's FDA pregnancy category C and it's not known if omeprazole will harm an unborn baby. You should not breast-feed while you are taking omeprazole since it can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby.
It is not contraindicated. That does not mean that drinking, by affecting liver function, will not affect the way your body metabolizes the drug. You should discuss the issue with your physician or pharmacist, and follow their suggestions.
No, omeprazole and aspirin are different medications. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor used to reduce stomach acid production, while aspirin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for pain relief and reducing inflammation.
I have never had problems, in fact it seems to help the omeprazole take affect better for me, but everyone reacts different. Yes, you can take Prilosec (omeprazole) with marijuana. You can also take all the other drugs in omeprazole's family, such as Nexium (esomeprazole), Prevacid (lansoprazole), Protonix (pantoprazole), Aciphex (rabeprazole) etc....
You would have to be completely stoopid!!!!!!
I'm on nitrofurantoin right now as well as birth control, and my doctor told me that while on the antibiotic my birth control pill is cancelled out, meaning its basically the same as using no protection at all.
Macrodantin is all macrocrystalline nitrofurantoin while Macrobid is a combination of the macrocrystalline nitrofurantoin as well as the nitrofurantoin monohydrate form (25% and 75% respectively). The monohydrate form has a faster rate of dissolution and absorption compared to the macrocrystilline form, and is contained within a powder blend which, upon exposure to gastric and intestinal fluids, forms a gel matrix that releases nitrofurantoin over time.
I am on Depakote, Clonazepam (Klonopin),Concerta & Prilosec and was concerned about eating grapefruit while on these medications (as I've heard that there can be a negative response while taking some medications and grapefruit together)...~ I just called my pharmacist and listed all these medications for her, and she said that they are ALL FINEto take while eating grapefruit. YAY!~ She went on to say that mostly, there is a concern with taking cholesterol-lowering medications and eating grapefruit. ~ SO, if you are taking: DEPAKOTE, KLONOPIN (Clonazepam), Concerta, or Prilosec (Omeprazole), NO WORRIES! EAT YOUR GRAPEFRUIT & ENJOY!
