No PS3 game played without modification to the game can mess up your PS3. If it could be proven that it did the developers and producers would be liable for damages since it was advertised as for the PS3. Worn ,scratched unreadable game discs are a different story and the problems playing them could be considered messing up your PS3 only while using that disc
It shouldn't. Mine works fine. If something goes wrong try checking the controller setting in the JC2 pause menu.
