Best Answer

nothing like that , but people which have low running go for petrol because , the price difference between them more than one lack .

in the case of diesel engine it get good milage and efficiency at optimum temperature this can achieved only by good running.

Will low sulfur diesel fuel harm new diesel engines?

It shuoldn't but I would check with the manufacture of the diesel engine you have..

Which one having high torque petrol or diesel engines?

Diesel engines have much more torque at low rpm.

Can you use 500ppm diesel in a common rail engine?

Pre 2007 diesel engines can run on 500 ppm diesel fuel. 2007 and later diesel engines that call for ultra low sulfur diesel fuel should not. These systems use EGR and the extra sulfur in the diesel creates sulfuric acid by nature and will then be reintroduced into the combustion process. Even later diesel engines are using diesel particulate filters that are sensitive to the extra sulfur. Bottom line, if your engine says that it is rated for ultra low sulfur diesel fuel (15ppm) use it.

Why do many cars have diesel engines when petrol gives a better performance?

Some cars have diesel engines because diesel engines give more mileage and diesel is cheaper than gasoline in some countries. In the UK diesel fuel costs more than gas but, because diesel engines give much better mileage (miles per gallon), people are still happy to pay more for the diesel fuel if they run diesel vehicles. Diesel engines last much longer and have much better torque at low revs than a petrol engine.

How to make diesel from used oil?

People running used oil in diesel engines aren't making it into diesel fuel... they're running it straight. It requires the oil to be thoroughly strained, heated, and, above all, it can only be run in a pre-DPF engine, as running anything other than #2 Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel will clog a diesel particulate filter in no time flat, to the point where it won't be able to be cleaned out by regeneration, and thus, you'll end up having to replace the DPF filter.

Why are all tractors powered by diesel engines?

Diesel engines produce better low end torque than gasoline engines and the availability of low end torque - meaning lots of power at low speeds - is an absolute necessity in the functions performed by most tractors. Another reason is that in many countries diesel fuel for farm vehicles - including tractors - is highly subsidized by the government so is much cheaper to buy than regular gasoline.

Will off road diesel harm a 2007 5 liter cummins?

Off road diesel is just regular diesel colored with a dye to show that highway use taxes have not been payed on it.So as long as it is the proper ultra low sulphur fuel it will not harm the engine. It is also highly illegal to use it in an on road vehicle.Off road diesel is just regular diesel colored with a dye to show that highway use taxes have not been payed on it.So as long as it is the proper ultra low sulphur fuel it will not harm the engine. It is also highly illegal to use it in an on road vehicle.

Will new ultra low sulfur fuel harm old diesel motor?

spposedly the new fuel will not harm older engines.the new fuel has chemical additives to replace the sulphur in old diesel. sulpher is a lubricator in the pump amd injectors

Can a marine diesel engine run on highway diesel fuel?

Yes. The difference is that marine diesels do not (yet) have to run a diesel particulate filter, SCR, and other on-highway emissions controls, and thus can use low sulfur diesel fuel. Highway engines use Ultra Low Sulphur diesel fuel (ULSD) because of emissions requirements. Now, bear in mind that ULSD has less lubricity than low sulfur diesel fuel.

Can diesel oil be used in a petrol engine or vice versa?

Because , petrol is ignited before or on reaching the dead center at low temparature. But diesel burns at high temp also that's why petrol is not sufficient to diesel engines.

Why are diesel engine standard in heavy machinery and freight application?

Diesel engines have more torque especially at low rpms. This gives them much more pulling power. They also last much longer that gasoline engines. require less maintenance, and get better fuel economy.

Can you use a gas transmission on a diesel?

Yes. You will go very slow since most diesel engines make low rpm's. If you mate a gasoline engine to a diesel transmission you will go very fast since most gasoline engines make high rpm's. Transmission adapter plates and other modifications can be made but be prepared to fail
