As far as I know, Muslims are not allowed to dipict any living object. Muslims believe that only Allah (God) can create life, therefore, they can not draw living things. This is why they created calligraphy.

They would especially not be allowed to depict Muhammed because he is the Muslim figurehead.

It all depends on the branch of Islam. The shia Muslims do not agree with putting a picture of Muhammad(sas) because it is a shame to portray him wrong.
