Yes of course... Muslims CAN eat shrimps. Only those who might be health-conscious on cholesterol intake might refrain from consuming shrimps. Otherwise all Muslims will consume shrimps as part of their daily diet. In fact some even regard shrimps as a delicacy and some restaurants even charge more for meals containg shrimps.

To the Muslims all permitted foods are called "Halal". Those foods that are prohibited are known as "Haram". Pigs and shellfish (e.g. crayfish) fall into the category of haram both because they are scavengers and unclean and because they are omnivores.

no contrary to popular belief they do not crabs or shrimp they are more of the pork type most Islamic people don't live near the ocean and it is very hard for them to get any type of fish. I know this becuase I live in Islam

A Muslim had not been band frmo eating crab as if it were pork but its better if not to eat the crab if not slaughtered ( check other websites for perfect answers)
