Yes, of course. However, during Ramadan fasting, Muslims (men and women) get their breakfast by sunset and are allowed to eat drink, and practice licit sex anytime after sunset and just before fajr (that defines the first sunlight of the starting daytime) when tjhey start the new fasting day.
The question doesn't make too much sense, so I am assuming you asked: Why do Muslims fast during Ramadan? The reason Muslims fast during the Holy Month of Ramadan is because it is their duty. As a Muslim there are the Five Pillars of Islam and fasting is the third pillar. There are those who can't fast, like elderly people, children, women on their menstrual, etc.
1. Fasting is only during the day.2. Beverages other than water are not allowed during the day.3. People say "Happy Ramadan" to each other.____________________________________________________________Ramadan is the 9th month in the Islamic lunar calendarMuslims are required to be Fasting during the days of this month. Exceptions are mainly old people who can't afford fasting, pregnant women, women who are feeding their babies, ill people prescribed by the physicians not to fast, Muslims on travel, women during their menstruation.During the fasting period, Muslims are not allowed to eat, drink, smoke, or practice sex.the period of fasting is during the day time from just before dawn until the start of sunset. out of this period Muslims can practice their normal activities of eating, drinking, practicing sex with their partners who are licitly narried to.The first day after end of Ramadan is a feast for Muslims and is called "Eidul Fitr"
There is no special role for women during Ramadan fasting. Muslim woman role in Ramadan fasting is the same as that for the Muslim man. Her role as woman or wife during the month of Ramadan should be the same as woman and/or wife role out of Ramadan month. The only exception is that she should break fasting during the menstruation (period) and to compensate for these not fasted days after end of Ramadan but before the next year Ramadan. Also, if she is pregnant or feeding her child and can't fast from health point of view, then she is entitled to break fasting and compensate for these days as soon as convenient to her. Refer to question below for more information.
The woman is not allowed in Ramadan to fast or to perform the ritual praying during her menstruation (monthly period cycle). However, she should fast after Ramadan, as soon as she can, to compensate for the same number of days that she didn't fast in Ramadan. No compensation for the missed praying is required.
Men cannot wear gold jewelery, only women can. Doing it during Ramadan is even worst.
Islam is a religion that stresses equality: both the poor and the rich (men or women) are equal as slaves in the sight of Allah. In Islam the surest way to obtain Allah's forgiveness for one's past sins is Pilgrimage (the fifth pillar of Islam) which unfortunately is easy for the rich to afford the cost of the journey. The All-wise, Allah, did not put the poor Muslims in limbo, rather He made fasting during Ramadan as a means of placing the poor and the rich on equal footing in terms of asking for forgiveness for their past sins. If a Muslim has no means of going for hajj, there should be a way to compensate him/her. The All-wise has chosen Ramadan for all Muslims to get their past sins forgiven.
It is compulsory for Muslims to fast Ramadan days unless they have a licit excuse as being on travel, sick, pregnant, or feeding a child, or any other licit excuse. It is the fourth pillar of Islam five pillars. Refer to question below.
yes this is both for men and vomen. But women with mestruation cant fast. She will fast this days after ramadan
Generally, that is true, although there are some exceptions. In some all-Muslim or majority-Muslim countries, observance of Ramadan is mandatory; and even though there are exceptions for people who are ill, the elderly, children, or pregnant women, Muslims who are allowed to eat generally do not do so in public, to avoid seeming to show disrespect for the holy month. In countries where Muslims are in the minority, it may be necessary to first explain the reason for the fast, as well as explaining why some people are not able to observe it. Believers who are among the exceptions (due to illness, for example), might explain to non-Muslims that they are eating only because their doctor says they must, and that they mean no disrespect to Ramadan or to other Muslims who are observing the fast.
