i believe it can, however it wont make much of a difference, over 2GB XP wont really use the extra, and i'd b surprised if you had enought programs running to warrant 4GB, i'd only bother if u have vista. Yes, you can. But XP x32 cannot manage 4GB efficiently. There are so many users trying to use 4GB of RAM and XP displays only 3,25 or 3,5 GB.
You have reintall the OS and use x32 version when you install a fresh copy.
You can run Windows 7 with 1-2 GB of RAM depending on what you are doing. (More stuff you need more RAM) I Would go with at least 4 if not 8 GB of RAM to run Windows 7.
yes just x32 OS cannot
The minimum requirement for RAM to run windows 7 is 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit).
No, your laptop does not need 4GB of RAM to run Windows 8. The basic specifications for Windows 8 is 2GB for 64-bit or 1 GB for 32-bit. 4GB would help with the processor but would not be necessary.
The official minimum for a 64-bit installation is 2 GB of RAM. There is no "recommended" amount, as it depends on what you are trying to do. The maximum supported depends on what edition you are using: Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate support 192 GB of RAM. Windows 7 Home Premium supports 16 GB of RAM. Windows 7 Home Basic supports 8 GB of RAM.
for better perfomance must need 2 GB
Absolutely ! I'm running Windows 7 on a Toshiba laptop with 3GB of RAM - and it runs very well !
The operating system is not directly related to the amount of RAM installed. XP can be run on anything from 32 MB of RAM to 4 GB.
The maximum RAM that Windows Vista Ultimate can recognise is 4GB, as long as you have the 32-bit edition. If a 64-bit edition is being run then up to 12 GB RAM can be supported.
No>It is not capible with windows 7 because the processor is less the 1 GHz and it has less than 1 GB of ram.
There are a couple reasons. At the time it was released, 4 GB was more RAM than most desktop computer had or would be expected to have in its lifecycle. Also, 32-bit operating system can only access more than 4 GB of RAM if they run in PAE mode. Not all drivers will run correctly with more than 4 GB of RAM, so Windows XP deliberately capped it to avoid problems.
