well, that depends. If you are a mature 12 year old, and not just some kid who always takes inappropriate things seriously, like laughing if a sim kisses another sim, then you may play sims 3 as you please

Well, that really depends. The game is rated T for Teen, for a reason. Several reasons, actually. One, there is the "woohoo" interaction. No, you can't see them doing anything - fireworks, etc under covers, or under water in a hot tub, or from a closed closet, or from inside a car (and you can't see it there, either) - but, they do make babies that way, so that depends on the child's age, and how much they know, and how the parents feel about that part. Sims can also go to bars, flirt, cheat on spouses, fight, and so forth. Die, too. So it depends on the kid.
