Hello:) I hope I can help you.
This question is one that you will eventually have to answer on your own anyway. So let's try to evaluate this.
Will you be 18 years of age or close to 18?The average age for children to be considered a "legal" adult is 18. However, in some states, the age will vary. This should cover the legal aspect of moving out of your home.
Will moving out of your family home best benefit you? Will you be more comfortable? Can you handle it if you weren't so comfortable? Can you afford the luxury of living on your own? Rent, phone, food, etc... ? You may actually have to think about the cost of college? I say this because it is better to know exactly where you stand and what you have to work with. Have you considered the balance of working a job and keeping up with classes, homework, and test?
There are other personal things to consider, such as, can you expect any reprecussions from your parents? Can you handle that?
In my opinion:If I were in your shoes, I would strongly consider why I wanted to move out while in college was such an important issue. After you find that out, move out. Fix that problem after you get settled into your new life. You must fix this problem though; this one will haunt you. Basically, just do exactly what you want to do. It is your choice and your right. I so highly commend you for attending college. I am cheering you on and your parent's will to when you show them what a responsible adult they have raised. Don't be too hard on them; they are still parents regardless of your new level of freedom and choice. Also, financially speaking, living at home while in college is a brilliant idea unless it has any kind of negative effect on your life. Outside of that, living at home would, in my humble opinion, be the first financially intelligent decision you could make in starting out your life.
Good look to you...
