The only major safety concern unique to the 3ds is simply described in a warning which states that children under 6 years of age should not use the 3d feature, due to the fact that certain muscles in the eye aren't fully developed yet. So far, no actual studies have been carried out to show that the 3ds is truly harmful to children.
The warning is more of a safety net for Nintendo, just in case people do claim to feel dizzy and decide to file a lawsuit. Even if the 3d feature does prove to be harmful, it can be turned off. The device itself is perfectly safe.
Yes it is unharmful
it interacts with its kind or unharmful animals :)
Yes, some germs help digest food.

There is no such thing as a 3DS DSi.
No, it is not out for 3DS.
yes
You buy ds or 3ds games and then put them in your 3ds.
No, It's for both 3DS and 3DS XL. 3DS XL is just a larger version of the 3DS.
Basically the 3DS XL is a larger 3DS so if you want a larger screen size, go for the 3DS XL. The 3DS is cheaper and is smaller if the XL is too bulky for you.
