I'm no expert but I've looked around for the answer to this as well and found some fairly reliable sources that suggest coffee is a sufficient short term solution solution to ADD/ADHD, but if you want longer lasting effects you should consult your physician about medication. As far as feeding coffee to a seven-year old, I'm not sure if it would be wise as it's often said that 'coffee stunts your growth.' In any case, I would still consult my physician.
