If it did not conflict with mission requirements ( chapel, church or school duties, ) why not. I know for a fact several sisters ( from the Saint Mary"s Hospital) were in the audience at my Parents" wedding, as Mother ( a nurse) was at the time employed ( she trained and qualified there earlier) at St.Mary"s hospital, in Hoboken. Hoboken at one fairly recent time had Five Catholic Churches, an independent Church School, and a Church-affiliated hospital- so there were at least seven convents !

Roman Catholic AnswerNormally not, as her Order would probably not give permission. If her Mother Superior gave permission, then, of course she could. But note that a "nun" as opposed to a "sister" is usually cloistered and normally would only leave the cloister to go to a hospital or a doctor's appointment. A sister would have no such problem.

Roman Catholic AnswerI believe you have your terms mixed up: a nun is a cloistered religious under solemn vows, she does not usually leave her cloister, so unless the wedding was being held inside the Abbey Church inside the enclosure, this probably wouldn't work. If you mean a Catholic Sister - which laypeople usually call nuns, although they are not - they could easily be a sponsor at a wedding if their superior gave permission.
