ACP means Automatic Colt Pistol. .45 ACP and .45 Auto are the same cartridge. .45 Colt and .45 Auto Rim are a revolver cartridge. .45 GAP (Glock Auto Pistol) is a shorter round than the ACP, and does not interchange with it.
Both. .45 Auto and .45 ACP are the same round.
The .45 ACP--which stands for AUTOMATIC COLT PISTOL is used in semiautomatic pistols. The .45 Colt is used in revolvers.
The Glock 21 does fire the .45 ACP, as does the Glock 30. You're probably thinking of the Glock 37, 38, and 39, which fire the .45 GAP cartridge - those cannot fire a .45 ACP.
Aside from the uncommon .45 GAP chambered Glocks, yes. Check the marking on your barrel for the .45 ACP marking.
No. The .45 Automatic Colt Pistol (ACP) cartridge is longer the the .45 Glock Automatic Pistol (GAP) cartridge. Since they headspace on the MOUTH of the cartridge case, they cannot be interchanged.
Answer The Colt .45 caliber automatic pistol was accepted as the standard side arm of the US Army and became identified as the Model 1911 Pistol. The bullet developed for use in this new design of automatic pistol was called the .45 ACP or the .45 Automatic Colt Pistol cartridge. It stands for "Automatic Colt Pistol" because it was adopted for the Colt 1911 only by the US army. You get many variants the most prolific being the .45 GAP for glock handguns. It's patented I believe.
The .45 GAP is a shorter cartridge than the .45 ACP. Developed for the Glock Automatic Pistol (that's the GAP) it does not interchange with the .45 Colt Automatic Pistol (ACP). Made for a smaller firearm, shorter action, etc.

no with regard to cases. 45 long colt has a ridge that sets on end of cylinder. 45 acp is rimless. however, they do make a cylinder for the acp that can be used on colt single actions. i have just bought a uberti 45 and was told by the dealer "a very reputable" that a 45 colt, and a 45 long colt are exactly the same. it's when you add the acp that it is a shorter round with no lip on the back of the case where the primer fits to stop it from going all in the cylinder
'ACP' means Automatic Colt Pistol. A 1911, for example, would chamber a .45 ACP cartridge.
Glock pistols are made in a variety of calibers. Currently available in .380 ACP, 9mm Luger, .357 Sig, .40 S&W, 10mm Auto, .45 ACP and .45 GAP.
