Yes, Jehovah's Witnesses give and receive gifts all the time. The only time we refrain from certain gift giving customs is when it is associated with customs or holidays that are tied up in pagan and non-Christian religion. An example of when we refrain from gift giving or receiving in birthday celebrations which origionated in pagan religion. The birthday celebration was actually a celebration to appease the god of the astrological sign the celebrant was born under. Also we don't participate in the popular holidays because of their roots in pagan religion as well. But on other occasions we do exchange gifts. For example: wedding anniversaries, bridal and baby showers, house warming, and other occasions that are not related to pagan religion, and sometimes we give gifts for no reason at all.

We love to give and receive gifts. We do it all the time, for occasions such as baby and bridal showers, wedding annversaries, house warming, or even for no reason at all.

What we do NOT share in is any celebrations that are based on pagan religion. The problem we have with Christmas and birthday celebrations is not the gift giving itself, but it's the pagan (non-christian) origins of the celebrations.

Yes, in fact Jehovah's Witnesses run a number of Charitable associations and many regularly contribute both money and time to disaster relief operations that have helped many thousands of people both Witneses and non-Witnesses alike often times working in harmony with government agencies to channel relief funds through relief centres as was the case with a large proportion of supplies sent by Jehovah's Witness to earthquake victims in Haiti.

There is nothing in Watchtower Society literature (as far as I can tell) to say that 'Witnesses are not allowed to give money to the poor' and therefore the answer is YES.

In my experience individual Jehovah's Witnesses will and have given to various charities however it has to be acknowledged that most Witnesses, again only in my experience, will generally only give money to the Watchtower Society itself and leave it to the Society to decide what to do with the money.

The Watchtower Dec 15th '54 page 707 says; ''While Jehovah's servants keep giving to the poor among them the necessary material things, the emphasis of their giving is on spiritual gifts. Yes, their primary concern is not for those poor in a material way but with those who are conscious of their spiritual need, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.''

Jehovah's Witnesses consider all other religions to be 'Babylon the Great' the world empire of false religion and so would not want to be contributing to any charity or cause associated with any church.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the best charity is their preaching work.

The Watchtower 1st Oct 1986 page 24 says

''Many religious organizations in Christendom point with pride to their "good works" of caring for the sick, the needy, and the unfortunate. But they would do better to place more emphasis on offering spiritual help, even as Jesus did. Like the religious leaders of the first century, they have failed to carry out the more important commission. They may have filled the stomachs of some poor people with literal food, but they have left their minds and hearts hungering for words of truth. (See Amos 8:11.) They may have donated money to help the needy of the nations, but they have not declared "to the nations the good news about the unfathomable riches of the Christ" or about God's Kingdom government. (Ephesians 3:8) Their missionaries may have helped undeveloped nations to become more proficient in the use of the plow, but they have not induced them "to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears."

Yes. Jehovah's Witnesses will accept voluntary contributions which will be used to finance the production of bible based publications and centres of worship.

They do not ask or accept money in payment for preaching and teaching The Bible which is done completely free of charge.

Do jehovahs witnesses accept gift cards?

It would depend on the occasion. If you are giving as a wedding present, anniversary gift, baby shower gift, graduation, retirement - or just because you want to give a gift... these are acceptable. However, if they in celebration of a holiday that Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate - it would be inappropriate for you to give one.

Do jehovahs witnesses allow falatio?

There is nothing in the Bible that states there is anything wrong with it nor has it ever been discussed at our meetings or in our teachings. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and my wife and I give and receive plenty of it. It's is a personal preference and anyone that is telling you that "we" don't do it is speaking for themselves.

Like the Jews, Jehovah's Witnesses were targeted by the Nazi regime, not because of their ethnicity but because of their strictly neutral stand and there determination not to give support to Hitler's Army. See links below and related pages.

What is an informer witness?

The term is "informal" witnessing. Everyone knows Jehovah's Witnesses go formally knocking on people's doors hoping to be allowed to give a witness for their beliefs. That is the formal, or usual way of witnessing. But if you and one of Jehovah's Witnesses meet you on the street or in a store and you strike up a conversation, they can give a witness for their beliefs 'informally'.
