yes i believe if you can take it apart there is a certain component inside that was probably damaged because it went through the wash and i am not sure but i believe its your average button cell battery replace it and it should save but i only 80% sure about this so i would call Nintendo.

When you trade/send Pokemon to another GBC/GBA/console game with a fake/foreign copy your data will be automatically erased; it says so in most of the Pokemon games manuals.
