Yes and No.
You would not be able to play games from a disk but you should be able to play games installed to your hard-drive, these hard-drive games would be limited to arcade and demo downloads ONLY. Any games you have installed from your disks (assuming you are connected to XBL and have the new update) would not be playable as the console needs the disk inserted to boot the game up.
This is assuming the drive has broken and not actually been completely removed, In either case using your 360 is a bad idea and can only cause more damage, possible fire and electrecution risks would probably also be an issue.
The Xbox Arcade is an Xbox 360 and it comes without a hard drive. What you are calling an Xbox 360 I'm assuming comes with a hard drive and if you are thinking of buying an Xbox I recommend not buying the arcade as you cannot save games without a hard drive.
Yes, an Xbox 360 Slim can play arcade games without a DVD drive if the games are downloaded and stored on the console's hard drive. Arcade games can be purchased and downloaded directly from the Xbox Live Marketplace. However, if you want to play physical copies of games, a functioning DVD drive is necessary.
If you have a hard drive, Yes. Otherwise you cannot play original Xbox games. without a hard drive.
An xbox arcade IS an xbox 360, just without the hard drive.
if you play games alot you get a nice hard drive with it. arcade does not get a hard drive
yes it doesnt matter if its an arcade version or any of the others, the arcade games will still be able to be downloaded as long as you have enough free space on your hard drive or mem card.
Yes you can, the xbox arcade is just an xbox 360 pro, without the hard drive in the box.
About two differences: one: the xbox three sixty has a harddrive two: the xbox arcade comes with free arcade games but doesnt have a hard drive
To download arcade games you need xbox live, but all you need is a silver membership which is free.
It works for me:D
Yeah, but you need to buy the Xbox Hard Drive that is sold separately.
As far as I know, you can't play Halo 2 on a Xbox 360 Arcade. The Xbox 360 Arcade can NOT play regular Xbox games. To play Halo 2 on your 360, you'll either need to: A): Get a Xbox 360 Pro or Elite Hard Drive somehow, or B): Buy a new Xbox 360 Pro or Xbox 360 Elite
