A full grown person CANNOT ride an alpaca -- it can severely damage it's back and give it lifelong health problems. Small children, however may be able to. Llamas can also pull carriages, though I know it does not have the same effect.
yes it can. i have an alpaca named Jim and he is very tame. make sure you wear a face mask on your first few training days, though, cos they do spit.
I bloody well hope so because if not I've been riding a bloody llama to work ;)
yes
No, alpacas are too small to be ridden. Yes, I have tried! If you have a VERY well trained alpaca, you might be able to put a lightweight child on it's back with lots of supervision, but I wouldn't recommend it! Alpacas can be used as pack animals (and very rarely are trained to pull a small cart), so you can travel with them, but not on them.
Yes a Hackney pony can be ridden sidesaddle provided it has been properly trained and is of a correct size for the tack and rider.
