yes. get blood type gene from your father and mother. four blood types, so may be AA BB AB OO AO BO.

father could be AO, mother BO. A and B are dominant over O therefore show up as type A and B but each could pass on their O gene and have a type OO child

No.

Each person has 23 chromosomes, but each chromosome is made up of 2 strands - one from the mother, one from the father. Each chromosome has a different "genotype" or coding on it, but some are recessive, meaning that if there is a dominant genotype on the other chromosome, that trumps it.

Type O blood is recessive. This means that both chromosomes (given to you from your mother and your father) have O on them. There is no way you could pass anything else off to your baby.

Thus, if both parents are Type O, the baby must be Type O.

Type A trumps Type O, as does Type B. A and B are "equivalent" - and thus we have blood type AB.

The other thing to think of is that A and B blood cells have extra proteins on them, but type O does not. It's like if A were red food color, B were blue - and O were clear. So if you mix Red and clear, you get red. Blue and clear gets blue, and red and blue gets purple (A). But clear and clear cannot yield a color.

In terms of donating blood, once you have A or B, you cannot accept the other (i.e. latent becoming purple is impossible!). But you can always mix O with A or B or AB, or A with A, A with AB, B with B, or B with AB. That is why O is the universal donor, and AB is the universal acceptor.

Hope that helps.

Yes, that is possible. The first parents has a genotype of BO, while the second parent has a genotype of AO. The parents have a 25% chance of producing a child with AB blood, 25% chance of A blood, 25% chance of B blood, and 25% chance of O blood.

Yes. If Mom is homozygous A that is all the baby can be. If Mom is heterozygous, Baby has a 50-50 chance of being A or O either way, Baby can be A if Mom is A and Dad is O

Yes but both the parents have to be carrying recessive O's because A and B blood types are both carrying some type of O blood type

Yes. Here are the blood type possibilities for a baby if both parents are A + :

1) O +
2) O -
3) A +
4) A -

Hope that helps!

Yes. If the father is BO and the mother is AO, they can each donate their O giving the baby OO, and thus type O blood.

A Father with A positive blood type and a mother with O positive blood type will have a baby with what blood type?

The baby will normally be A positive.

Can a baby be born with blood type A or O if father is blood type A dominant and mother is blood type O dominant?

The baby can be born with either. My father is Type A and my mother is O. I'm A, and my brother is O. It is possible that it will complicate the pregnancy though. The baby can be born with either. Can father is A blood group and mother is B blood group and baby is male or female?

It depends. If the mother is heterozygous rh+ rh- for the rh blood type, then the baby could inherit an rh- allele from both parents, and then it would be rh negative.

Can a mother with b plus blood type and a father with b plus blood type have a baby with a blood type?

Yes, it is possible. The geneotype of the mother would be either BB or BO and for the father would be OO. If you cross the father's geneotype and either of the mother's then at least two of the four outcomes will be for B blood type. As for the - and +, positive is dominant over negative. The father could be + - or + + and the mother would be - -. Either combination would result in at least two positives. Therefore, it is possible for the mother to be B-, the father to be O+ and the baby to be B+. I added the link to the website where I got my info from. I want to know if an rh b neg blood type mother and an O positive father can have an A positive baby?
