It is a federal offense for a convicted felon to own or POSSESS firearms anywhere, under ANY circumstances. (USC, Title 18) Being "around" or hunting "with" persons carrying firearms puts him in "constructive" possession of a firearm. Ask yourself, 'Would a "reasonable" person believe that someone went out in the field hunting with others even though he had no weapon?' I doubt it. I wouldn't risk it.
First of all I would like to say that Texas laws are different than most in the lower 48. I know in SC NC TN GA and KY yes you can bow hunt. You can even use a muzzle loader. Wtth the advancements in muzzle loaders you're not at any disadvantage either.
Yes, ex-cons can fish in texas. Hunting maybe an issue unless you bow-hunt...
I live in Oregon and have an old felony from 1982, because I have been trouble free for 10 years, I can even hunt with long guns again. I just can't buy or sell guns.
I doubt it. But certainly check with the local authorities or your P.O. if you still have one. Most state a convicted felon cannot own a fire arm. But again this is state specific.
None, unless you are a first felony offender and have had your right to possess a firearm restored through the ATF.
No you are not allowed to hunt in Texas
can a convicted felon hunt deer with a bow or a gun
no
Yes you can hunt as a convicted Felon in Connecticut, Here is the answer I got from the CT DEP. A convicted felon can possess archery equipment, therefore he can hunt with a bow and arrow in Connecticut. Proof of a bow hunting certification course must be submitted before an archery permit can be issued. Mark Clavette DEP Wildlife Division
The Second Amendment of the Constitution does not protect convicted felons.
not any place in the U.S.
Bows are not considered firearms .Felons can bowhunt
I had just got off the phone with the law enforcement at the D.N.R offices and i was told that a felon can hunt with a Bow and Arrow and X-Bow but no type of gun at all not muzzleloader either
A bow is not classified as a firearm in Wyoming, so yes you are able to. Crossbows are a different story as they are classified as a firearm in some states. You would have to check your state laws for that classification, but as long as you do not use a firearm and follow bagging limits and all regulations, yes.
It is a federal crime for a convicted felon to possess a firearm. I am not sure if you can bowhunt. Hunting with or possession of a bow or crossbow is a matter of specific state laws. Check the laws specific to the state in which you reside or intend to hunt.
No, a convicted felon cannot participate in any activity involving a gun. Convicted Felons do not have the right to bear arms. Nor can they vote, or run for office. It is also hard for them to find a well paid job. Most employers will not hire convicted felons. !st, a bow is not a gun. 2nd, a convicted felon CAN vote, once they are off paper, (released from all supervision) Don't know about running for office... seems they would fit right in though. 3rd, there are well paying jobs out there for convicted felons, not all employers are so closed minded that they won't give a guy/gal a chance.
I believe that you can do so - however - if you are on probation why don't you just call your PO and ask them?
Yes.
