I have been a meth user off and on for many years. I have never had a dentist ask me if I had ever used drugs before until I went to the dentist last week. I don't have "meth mouth" but I do have problems with my teeth. I said, yes a long time ago. Then the dentist asked if the drug was meth? I said yes, but wouldn't admit to any recent use. I went in thinking I was going to get a root canal and ended up having 2 bottom teeth pulled and now being sent to a oral surgeon to have a back tooth removed. I was very upset even though I should have expected it. But I don't have the typical "meth mouth" BUT she was the first dentist to ask me. Maybe they all knew but just didn't say anything. Now I have to go and get a bridge to replace those teeth.
yes,if you first tell the dentist
All they can really tell is that you have used meth.
Did you go to the dentist? I had Novacaine show up as coke but I'm not sure about the meth.
No, it doesn't stain your teeth or cause gum recession.
No. Japan has problems with meth use as well. Other countries have problems with meth use. Meth use has only became a rural problem rather recently.
"A dentist can recognize ""meth mouth"", or certain telltale signs that a patient is a long-time user of methamphetamines. These signs include cracks in the enamel of teeth, poor dental hygiene, and decay at the gum line caused by prolonged ""dry mouth"", or lack of saliva."
yes they can.
A dentist pulls out teeth & also puts fillings in it
No. You may choose to tell him/her or not.
Yes, using meth is harmful.
Yes, "The dentist was very good at his job."
Usually not at all... The dentist will give you special stuff to use and also tell you how and how often to use it.
