There are no gay dogs nor are there any gay animals. Other folks may difer from me but it is the truth. When a male dog has access to a female in heat, he will always take the female in heat over another male dog. Same in nature, as long as a male animal has access to a female animal then he will pick the female over a male. It is only when the male has no access to a female, such as in a zoo, or caged up in some way, that he may turn to another male.
Yes, there are some animals that take courtship with the same sex as opposed to the opposite gender. Dolphins and rams are examples of some.
Many animals exhibit homosexual behaviour of some sort: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality_in_animals
i think that all dogs are gay. as ive watched my male dog grow, he has made 2 litters of puppies. although he still tries to mount other males.......ive also seen other dogs do this so i do believe that all dogs are bisexual..:) thanks.
Research has shown that certain members of several mammals other than humans may be bisexual. Dogs fall under one of those species that may be bisexual; however a male dog "doing things" with another male dog does not necessarily imply that he is homosexual, nor bisexual... only that he is releasing sexual impulses. (He may be prefer only male dogs, or both genders... or maybe just needs to get it out of his system so to speak.) Female dogs do often lick other female dogs in sensitive areas (however, it is unknown whether this is a particular "sexual" activity or a nurturing one, or both.)
This should not imply that "all" dogs are bisexual. In reality research shows that the majority of the dog species prefer the opposite gender, except in cases where the opposite gender do not exist (such as in captivity, especially with males... but this would be nearly equivilent to Alfred Kinsey's study on Adult Human Males who were incarcerated... heterosexual incarcerated men who had sexual relations with the same gender while under incarceration, typically did not have those same type of activities after being released.)
Gay behavior has been seen in most animals. It has nothing to do with the availability of a mate. Some will bond with the same sex as tightly as others do to the opposite sex.
The word "gay" is a term that only refers to humans. Animal sexuality is quite different, but all dogs and cats can exhibit homosexual behavior.
