Yes, check with your vet. Only if the pregnancy is too far advanced it may be risky for the mother. But it is so important as a means to stop more unwanted puppies being born (and their puppies and their puppies...).
When a dog is in season she cannot be spayed (too risky), but when she is pregnant yes.

∙ 7y agoSpaying a dog includes removing the uterus, the womb, where any developing puppies would be in a pregnant dog. So yes, spaying a pregnant dog will also kill the puppies.
Unless if the dog is so long gone that the surgeon decides to deliver the puppies by caesarian section Before doing the spay.
