Yes For Sure, HOWEVER...The Lab Must Run A Different Set Of Test To Determine What Type/Kind Of Opiate Is Present In The Test, Which Is Commonly Urine. So, A Simple Urine/Blood Sample Will Show Opiate Present, But It Will Require A Whole New Type Of Testing Of That Sample To Determine The Exact Derivative, IE: Heroin, Oxycontin,Morphine, methadone,And Other Drugs That Are Opiate Based, Either Synthetic Or Otherwise.

Yes, most definently - they can check the different hydrchlorides in the opiates .... eg. - They can tell morphine from hydo-morphine , oxycodone from hydrocodone , even right down to telling a vicodin from a loricet which both contain hydrocodine & acetometifen , also how much and approximently when you took it. They have VERY strict test guidlines .... Nothing to play around with . You can be kicked out and even lose your privlages if your on state assistance ... Yet it's not their fault , they themselves are strictly monitered by the government and can land their butt's in big trouble and lose their right to practice . If you were a Pain Managment Doctor what would you do ? it's their livelyhood. They give you a chance and have you sign federal papers , so people know what's up , playing stupid dont work they could care less .

It depends on how they drug test you and what kind of pills you take.

Some urine drug tests, the cheap ones, will just say + for opiates. More expensive ones will differentiate between certain opiates, especially oxycodone, methadone and propoxyphene. A serum (blood test) is more likely to show different opiates but even some of those are cheap and will just lump most of the opiates together.

Many major proscribed pain pills will show up as opiates.
