In general dogs should only have soap applied to them once a month. They need their natural oils to keep their coats healthy. Too much shampooing will dry out the coats, even if you use the moisturising shampoos. So don't worry, she'll be fine with a monthly shampooing. If you must do more, you can wet her with just water, understanding that that too can also dry her out as the water has chlorine in it. It makes no difference if a dog is in her cycle or not, once a month is plenty. Tony in Tucson

Yes dogs do have periods. My puppy is on her period right now.But before you give your dog a bath you might want to take her to the vet because they may get infected! Just for safety.

Yes, but avoid washing the dog's sexual organs or getting soap near them. Rinsing that area with water is sufficient.
