Can you put a goldfish in a bowl?

No. These fish need to be kept seperate. But if you want the goldfish to be eaten, you have to put them together :) You can put a Chinese fighting fish, also known as a betta, in a gold fish bowl.You could keep a betta and goldfish together, not reccamended though. The betta won't eat the goldfish, if it does, it's got srious problems:)

Siamese fighting fish or commonly known as the Betta can SURVIVE in almost any sized bowls because they are labyrinth fish (who can breathe air from the surface). Just go take a look at those tiny cups they are kept in at most pet stores!

However, there is a difference between THRIVING and SURVIVING. In order for them to thrive, a basic bowl of at least 1 gallon must be provided along with weekly water changes.

The smaller the bowl, the more toxic the water becomes as there is less water to dilute the buildup of ammonia and waste. Additionally, smaller bowls and jars provide less surface air for the fish to breathe, and be active and swim around. So, in the end, a larger tank, ideally 2.5 gallons to 5 gallons (with heater/filter) is the best sized if you want your beautiful Betta fish to live out his or her full life. also betta fish cannot be put in a bowl with another because 75% of the time one will kill the other in an act of sheer survival so dont put them in a bowl together or your just wasting money

Chinese fighting fishyou can with other fish but not with another beta male or female male because they will fight each other and the female and male can only be put together for mating then they have to be separated again if not when its not mating time he will kill her also and/or eat the eggs

A goldfish bowl is barely big enough for a Betta to survive in and many people believe it is cruel to keep a Betta in such a tiny container. A Betta should really have at least 1.5gals of water, a heater, a filter and plants growing in their tank. I would not expect any fish to live long in a bowl.

no! not unless they're 2 females, if they're 2 males they'll kill each otherso only 2 females can be put together Or if you want 500 babies you can put a male and female together. (Though they sometimes kill each other.)

They can survive in a fish bowl, but they need plenty of oxygen. Goldfish should be kept a tank with an open top that is at least the surface area of the aquarium's front. This is not very realistic, however, due to manufacturing. Do not keep more than one fish per gallon.

If you truly want your Betta fish to live out its full lifespan, don't put it in a bowl. And if you do, make sure it's at least a 2.5 gallon bowl that's filtered and heated to 78-80 F. Going unfiltered is doable if you want to/can do a LOT of water changes though. There are a lot of misconceptions about Bettas. People say their lifespan is 2 years when it should be 3-5 when properly cared for.
