Killing a Canada Goose is a federal offense in the United States because these birds are protected by the Migratory Bird Act.

But my question to you is, why would you want to? If you have noisy geese outside your home you can call a number of companies that will in courage the geese to move on in a very humane way.

Otherwise wait it out until the end of April when the mating season is over. After the couples settle down and choose their homes for the summer, all the honking will stop.

Oh yes, geese can be dangerous, mainly to airplanes. They sometimes get sucked in to a jet engine, which is not good for the engine and can cause it to fail. Other than the risk to air travel, geese are not very dangerous. They are not known to attack people although they can get defensive if you get too close to their goslings. I personally have been hissed at by a goose. But I suffered no harm.

they can most definitely chase them away, but they may be scared of them, so, if you do not have a cat yet, get one that is not scared of much, and try it out!
