They should not be able to if it is made well. They will most likely chew on the bars (you should try to discourage this-as the paint is not good for them-by giving them wood chew toys) but they can't get through them as they are just guinea pigs.
Yes, hamsters bite there cage. Mine doesn't but I know someones hamster that does. Try picking it up when it does that or shoo it off the cage.
Your hamster is showing that he doesn't like you at the moment. Feed your hamster through the bars of the cage with his favorite treats. bring your hamster to the vet and ask what to do to make your hamster more friendly towards you.
You should get a new cage because when they bite the cages they try to get out. Mine got out. Get a glass cage instead. Hope this helps.
Give it something else to bite in order to wear its teeth down.
It does this because it's teething.
Umm..... yeah and that's really not the brightest idea Friend.
no guinea pigs are herd animals while hamsters need there privacy
Maybe he mistaked it for food, cause it smelled like it.
get rid of the hamster or buy a cage for it!!
Yes. The wires in the cage have gaps too small for a dwarf hamster to fit through. The cage is good for dwarf hamsters.
Hamsters may bite their cage out of boredom, stress, or a need for more space. Providing enrichment activities, a larger cage, and regular handling can help reduce this behavior.
The best kind of cage you can get for your hamster is a wire cage with a plastic bottom. It is well ventilated and the hamster can climb.
